“To drink is to die!”
Surely not! Even Jesus drank wine and turned jars of water into wine at a wedding feast. But there is a difference between drinking socially (responsibly) and being addicted to alcohol.
That being said, it is still an absolute horror to me how people without knowledge or training can take on the task of caring for the addicted person. This is usually to their own detriment, and can help destroy the addicted person’s life.
Lord, there is help for the suffering addict. Help us to let go and direct them to get the help they need.
